Investors in People award ceremony

Paul Doe, Chief Executive, and David Blackburn, Director of HR & Business Support, attended the Investors in People (IIP) Celebration and Presentation at Capital Quality, the home of Investors in People in London on Thursday 21 February. Paul and David joined representatives from Gallions Housing Association, Chiswick Care Home, EDF Energy and Redbridge Borough Council and others, to share success stories, discuss the impact of IIP and talk of the future.

By achieving the Standard, Shepherds Bush Housing Group (SBHG) have proven to have a solid foundation for further growth and development. There are a number of post-recognition review options available and it is planned to stretch SBHG further in the future, by being assessed against Leadership and Management, Recruitment and Selection, or Work Life Balance models. It is also planned for SBHG to have a rolling review, to receive an annual rather than three yearly visit, helping ensure best practice and learning is embedded.

David continues to be personally involved with Investors in People; appointed as an IIP Panel Member last year, he regularly vets assessments from first time organisations and sits on Retained Recognition Panels. He hopes this year to become a Capital Quality Angel or 'Ambassador', part of a select group of senior managers, Managing Directors and HR professionals from recognised IIP organisations, sharing their experiences with other organisations.
